IJ Help! *begs*

So I set up a free account over at insanejournal, but I am not receiving notices when people friend me and I tried sending a few test comments to my post, but have not received any of the comments posted.  I have it set to e-mail copies of comments and when I try to set it to send e-mails when others friend me, it doesn't seem like it saves the settings.

My e-mail I'm using is yahoo, same as here.  It is just me having problems or is it that I have a free account?  Do comments/replies not get e-mailed with free accounts?

Any help anyone can provide is GREATLY appreciated.
