Suggestions/Help... Please! (RE: LJ Accounts)

I'm debating if I want to upgrade a Plus account. I don't post enough to get a Paid account... yet. I was wondering exactly how much the advertising affects the layout of the page for a Plus account. Is it as obnoxious as on some free website providers? Like geocities (I think), where you have the left side of the screen taken away until the viewer closes the window. Any help is greatly appreciated. :) Thanks in advance.

I have a paid account so I don't see the advertising anywhere. Maybe try surfing for people with plus accounts, then you'll be able to view the advertising (as you have a free account) and how is affects the page.

I don't like the advertising purely for the fact that I don't think it belongs on LJ. I don't want to be directing people to links where they will be forced to view advertising, even though I don't see it myself. I will rarely link to people with Plus accounts, just so that people on my fl that don't have paid accounts won't be forced to look at advertising (especially since I don't know what that ad will be. Can you imagine linking to a post about positive self-image and then having an ad for weight loss pop up?).

Thanks for the suggestions. Like I said, I don't really post too much now to merit a Paid account yet.

I honestly very rarely check out people's actual LJ's unless I haven't friended them yet. If someone's on my flist, I usually just read the posts from there.

I'll have to do some searching for some Plus accounts. I guess my main concern is the type of ads they use and placement. I definitely know what you mean about contradictory ads on posts.
